When disturbed, asbestos becomes airborne and that is why you should leave your house for the entire morning. The company that will be removing the tiles know what they are doing and you should heed their warning.

You might be eligible for a Mesothelioma case. Asbestos is very serious and you are under a great risk of cancer (especially if the landlord did not inform you about it). Arm yourself with information and talk to a lawyer.
